~ Lament for Lòrien ~

Lothlòrien, sweet Lòrien!
Why must all beauty fade?
All bare you stand,
the golden leaves have fallen into shade.

Fair elves
that dwelt beneath your trees,
nay, they return no more!
Ah Elbereth, your people left
the lands on hither shore!

The Three have ceased and doom has come
upon this hallowed ground.
And no more has a single star
of Elanor been found.

Lothlòrien, your wooden halls
stand empty, cold and sad.
Thus ends the bliss of elder days,
like to a dream one had.

~ Watcher in the Dark ~

Behold! In moonlit night
beneath the trees dances Tinúviel!
Fair maiden clad in blue,
lost in a dreamy tune
she weaves in slender grace.

Dark beauty, Elven Queen,
her voice like crystal clear,
joins in the whispers of the stream,
while leaf and bird stay hushed.

For it is but the Nightingale
to weave sweet melody tonight,
enchantress of the woods.
My yearning soul shall find no rest
on Arda evermore...

~ Frodo's Farewell ~

Take me to where the road does end,
on hidden path show me the way!
I have but one sole life to spend
and I will do so if I may!

The East grows dark, the land lies waste,
Red Shadow lying there in wait.
Yet yonder must I turn and haste,
a willing servant of my fate.

The burden on my mind does grow,
I’m off alone, I must not stay.
What I will find I do not know,
what I must do I dare not say.
